German Shepherd Hats

german shepherd hats
Why does my German Shepherd bark at the neighbor he sees every day?

Some days he will go up and accept treats from the neighbor without barking and he will wag his tail and be friendly. Then some days he refuses to take the treat from the neighbor and just barks and growls at him. Sometimes the neighbor wears a hat and I thought maybe that kept my dog from recognizing him. But even after he takes the hat off, my dog still barks and growls.

German shepherds are naturally good guard and protection dogs. mine also does that, everytime my GSD hears someone’s footsteps outside our door (he has very good hearing) he starts growling softly, sort of “informing” me. they are great dogs are are very loyal to their owners. if your neighbour has cats or other starnge animals maybe your dog can smell them on your neighbour. im sure your dog has a good reason for it, its just a shame he cant talk and tell you it :D

Search Engine Optimization And LSI: The Truth

Many people are confused by search engine optimization and LSI. What is LSI and what has it to do with SEO? In fact nothing. That’s right – nothing. Zilch. Absolutely nothing whatsoever. So why all the fuss? Through ignorance and possible subterfuge.

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing, a term that has no meaning whatsoever. There is a term called ‘latent semantic analysis’ that is the analysis of the hidden meaning of text and its explanation by means of an analysis of the way that other words in the passage are used. The code for each letter in a word is analyzed, and the word thereby identified. There are certain known juxtapositions of certain words that provide a meaning to these words, although all may not be what it seems.

For example, is I ‘bought an apple’, did I buy a computer or a piece of fruit? That only becomes apparent when the rest of the semantics of the passage is analyzed. The word semantics means the meaning of words in the way that they are used. For example: “I bought a dog lead for my German shepherd” indicates that the German shepherd is a dog, and not a Teutonic gentleman looking after sheep. It is the rest of the semantics in the text that makes it clear what the term means.

Take another example: “spiders crawl the web looking for ….”. What does this actually mean? Is the passage referring to arachnids seeking flies or search engine spiders looking for specific keywords? Only the remainder of the text will make this clear. What does the term ‘the history of locks’ refer to? If you came across a website with that title, what topic do you think it would cover? The history of canal locks? The history of door locks? Only an analysis of the rest of the text in the page would tell you that, and that is what LSI is. It is not ‘latent semantic indexing’ but ‘latent semantic analysis’.

What the term relates to is the ability of search engine algorithms to determine the relevance of your content to the search term used by the search engine user. Someone searching for the “history of English canal locks” dos not want to be presented with a website entitled “the history of locks” that is an authority on jail locks. The algorithm analyses the text on the page and decides the topic from the word used.

It also ensures that the content of the page is relevant to the keyword, and does not only consist of a continuous repetition of the keyword, as many sites did prior to Google’s algorithm change. In fact, this type of analysis put paid to the software that generated thousands upon thousands of websites and page content from a single template containing no content at all to speak of but a form of words into which any keywords could be entered. Thus, “information on dogs is available all over the internet, and dogs are a popular topic with many websites providing information on dogs”.

Any keyword you can think of could be use in place of ‘dogs’ and the content provides no information whatsoever. That is typical of the reason why Google introduced the LSI algorithm, even though the term is meaningless to the webmaster. Apart from the fact it should really be termed latent semantic analysis, LSA, and not LSI, it is an analytical technique, and analytical techniques cannot be used by anybody to improve their website. You cannot make a website LSI compliant, but you can write a web page with good content that is relevant to your page title. You can include varied information and good English, rather than endless repetitions of the keyword, and so allow the search engine spiders to understand what your web page is about.

How many keywords are too many? You tell me! However, there is a growing body of evidence that you should use the page keyword once in the title, but it should not form the title. Thus, if your keyword is “write articles”, your title should not be “Write Articles” but “How to Write Articles that Generate Traffic”.

You should then use they keyword just the once in the first 100 characters of the body of your text, and again in the last paragraph on the page. Google will look for it in these positions. Perhaps once more each 500 words, but no more than that. Keyword Density is old hat and irrelevant. I have had better results doing that than using a 1% or a 3 % KD. That would equate to between 5 and 15 keywords in a 500 word article compared to the three that I would use.

You don’t have to believe me of course, but if you don’t then I bet my listings are higher than yours!

What breed of dog is this?

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h66/cloudstrife4444/jayjay.jpg

I’ve had her for about three years when she was just a baby, but her previous owner didn’t know anything about her breed. She’s fully grown obviously and is only about 25-30 lbs but looks exactly like a mini german shepherd, which I know isn’t a breed. Maybe one of her parents was a shepherd and one was a terrier? lol.

I agree with JenVT and Emily. She looks like a Shepherd/Terrier mix.

She has the same coloring as my dog :]

Secret to Dag Training Download

Written by the most renowned dog trainer Daniel Sevens, Secret to Dag Training

(formerly named Sit Stay Fetch) has always been the top selling dog training guide for

over four years, and recently an improved version of it was launched. Jam-packed by

rich information,Secret to Dog Training worth more than its selling price that you won’t

be regret purchasing it. Once you own it,you can’t be too surprised by the abundance

of information it serves! A lot of people may bother that they have to spend time

having heavy and complicated lessons before or the first time they have a dog.

Then, you need Secret to Dog Training to release your burden. The book begins with a

5-page table of contents introducing you the major idea of it,which gives you a

general view of the book. The next several parts cover several practical subjects such

as diet and nutrition, the choice of a vet, house training, etc. There are also brics

teaching you training techniques including crate training, clicker training, dog

whispering and more. If you are interested in more advanced behavior such as

chewing, biting or digging,go on read the following part which provides you with

interpretations of these actions and guidance that helps you teach your dog to do so.

In addition, there is a chapter that tells you how to recognize your dog’s facial

expressions, which is traditionally believed the most difficult ones to understand.

Attached by photographs, this is also the most funny as well as most useful part of the

book. You can command your dog to do certain activities and observe its facial

expressions to check if the book is right or not,and I am sure that you won’t be too

astonished as what is described in the book is exactly what your dog acts! To show

you the essential of Secret to Dog Training, please read following brief extracts: Being

the most beautiful but aggressive dog,the German Shepherd needs special training to

make them easier and more suitable to be kept.Below are key guidances:

1.The German Shepherd is easier to be controlled when grown up. So you had better

fully prepared when they are over naughty in their childhood.

2.With a lot of energy, the German Shepherd can be rather aggressive. You need to

start treating them with dog collars to ensure the safety of people around you.

3.You need to start teach them early with socialization. When your dog is socialized in

his or her early age, they will be more mild and less possible to bite.

dominant german shepherd?

i waz wonderning how i would pin my german shepherd down and hold him there tell he gives up
i was watching cesar millan dog whisperer and cesar would always put dogs on there side…i have an adult german shepherd that is dominant. i wanna pin him but when i tried he would wrestle me back.. so i quit n let him go..

mina is correct, don’t try this, it is a supposed quick fix, but the truth is that it takes time to fix problems, as I am sure you understand. We all like a quick fix, but experience shows us that it often makes things worse.
Do join an obedience class, a dog that does what you want is showing you respect and confirming your dominance, so every time you practice obedience you are winning.
Make sure you feed the dog are you have eaten, make the dog sit and stay, put the food down and wait 2 minutes before releasing the dog to eat his food. The dominant control the supply of food.
once a day shuffle your feet and walk into you dog when he is asleep, making him get up and move, stand there for 2 minutes – alpha dogs take the best spots.
Dont let him sleep on your bed or sit on your chairs
Everytime you try to pin him down and he refuses, you are teaching him to disobey, much better not to try again.
Hope this info helps you

What kind of dog is this?

I seen something like this in a movie
it is big, incredibly intimidating, the ears are pointed.

The only breeds which resemble it is a black great dane.. and black german shepherd but its eyes…. the eyes just pierce you like they look right into your soul itself.

http://static.desktopnexus.com/wallpapers/36411-bigthumbnail.jpg

Someone help me find out what kind of dog this is…
so only wolfs look like that?
no dog breeds?

it was used in a movie…

That would be a wolf, the closest think to that would prob be like a black german shepard. unless a dog was bred from a wolf and some other breed, it will def not look remotley close to this. Ur right though, those eyes are gorgous.

Will my dog’s coat continue to grow?

i have a Golden Retriever Irish Setter mix, and he just turned two a couple of days ago. I know Goldens and Setters have very long, thick coats, but my dog still doesn’t. He has feathering on his tail, legs, and ears, and that’s about it, but his coat is about as thick as a German Shepherd. He does have an undercoat, but his shedding hasn’t increased at all. Just wondering if he will ever get an adult coat, because its now or never.

By two years old, he has already gotten his adult coat. This is how his coat will stay.

German Shepherd Breeding Season

german shepherd breeding season
What would be a possible reason for a dog to not come in season?

I was hoping someone could help me with this. I am looking at purchasing a female German SHepherd from a lady. She is 3 yrs old and the lady said that she has never come into season. She could not tell me if it was due to a medical reason or what. I don’t want to buy a dog that has severe health issues, but a minor one I could deal with. I do want to breed her because she has great lines and conformation. She said that since she has been breeding, she has heard that some females in largeer breeds do not mature enough to come into season until they are 4 or 5; could this be true?
According to her; she bought this dog and her sister for her breeding program. She never spayed her and the sister has been bred.
I have been SHOWING pure bred dogs for a couple of years now. I intend on showing this dog first and breeding second. This is my first German Shepherd, I have been working with Min pins. Alley T- get your facts before you start calling names!

No! she is lieing to you! If that dog has not come into season by now there is something very wrong! Most large breeds dog come into season the first time between 11 months old and 14 old. By 3 years old she should have had more than 1 season already!
If she is spewing this grabage to you I question her as a breeder! she is certainly not knowledgeable and she IMO has done nothing to see if there is a medical reason as to why this dogs has not come into season.
I would not get this dog from anyone like her! I dont care what the dog looks like. Breeding her may be impossible if she some kind of internal problem or genetic issue as to why she has not cycled at all by now.
By the age of 5 years old most dam’s are considered too old to be having pups!

Run from this breeder and dont look back!

german shepherd breeding season
my german shepherd is in season and i want to breed her is there anyone in the fife area with a male?

the male needs to be pedigreed and kennel club registered please get back to me thx

I have a 16yr old GSD. I personally wouldnt breed your dog. Is not fair on her, and there are already many dogs, loads of them GSD’s on the streets and in centres because people cannot handle them, esecially GSD’s because of what many people see them as, i.e agressive, guard dogs, and not all of them are, its the same with ANY dog, of you train it correctly it will be fine, all dogs can trun around and bite! I take it you have had her hips and elbows scored. and she is generally well, you wouldnt want the puppies to inherit any of these?

and this site isnt meant for advetising, but if you are really serious about this then go on www.dogpages.org.uk. however they will all be neutered before rehoming.

German Shepherd Food Allergies

german shepherd food allergies
I have a German Shepherd adult male with food allergies.?

Any advice would be appreciated. He is also skinny and won’t gain weight. My vet said his weight is fine but you can see his bones and I hate it!
His coat has gotten thin and he looks bad.
I had him on lamb and rice but he is not getting better.
I just switched him to Tast of the Wild a holistic fomula and hope it will help.
I give him 1 tsp of cod liver oil per day. I give him no soy or wheat.
what else can I do for him?
I am usually the one that can answer most dog questions on here but I am at loss as what else to do for my boy. help.
He was eating a RAW diet with Raw chicken thighs, peas, carrots, spinach, eggs, fish oil but it was too expensive at this time for me to continue feeding him that way. so, i tried a holistic food..Taste of the wild. he was on nutro max lamb and rice but i switched him to the new stuff today. $43 bucks a bag…

Has this dog been tested for EPI? This condition is not uncommon in GSD and can cause problems due to non- or mal-absorption of food. The results can be weight loss, growth disorders, greasy or brittle coat and huge, stinky poos.

http://www.epi4dogs.com/epidogs.htm

Many dogs with digestive issues do much better on a raw diet of meat, meaty bones and organs as they are much more readily digested than cooked meats and grains.

chula lula – you’d be better off googling raw meaty bones, species appropriate raw food (SARF) or prey model than BARF. If you read the first article as well as the myths one you will see why fruit and vegetables aren’t necessary or even digestible!!

german shepherd food allergies
What is the best food for a 6 year old German Shepherd with skin problems caused by allergies?

Hello everyone. I am adopting a 6 year old female GSD from a rescue. She is currently on a [very expensive!] prescription diet for her allergies. Her skin and coat looks much better and should clear up by the time I taker her home with me. I was wondering, what is the best food to feed her her once she no longer needs the prescription diet? Preferably one that does not contain corn, soy, or wheat gluten. Here are some good brands that are available in my area (tell me what you think):

Artemis
Blue Buffalo
Canidae
Halo
Pinnacle Holistic
Solid Gold
Wellness

Oh and if you have any personal experiences with these foods, feel free to share.

First of all you need to find out what she is allergic to. She needs the veterinarian to draw her blood and send it out for an allergy panel. This will tell you exactly what she is allergic to. Then you can begin reading all the different ingredients of all those different foods to determine which one is the most suitable.

I know that Blue Buffalo has been on recall lists. So I would X that one out right now. Wellness and Solid Gold have changed management recently which most often indicates changes in manufacturing practices. They have also refused to provide information about where their food sources are obtained. So I’m less inclined to purchase food from them. I am unfamiliar with Halo. I have fed my dogs Canidae and Pinnacle and have had great results with both. It is my opinion that you do get a bit more bang for your buck with Canidae but that may depend on location. I currently use and HIGHLY recommend Flint River Ranch. They are a smaller American company that gets their food from all American sources and there are NO preservatives in it!

But remember, you need to find out what specifically she’s allergic to and then avoid those ingredients.

German Shepherd Leerburg

Is anyone familiar with Leerburg’s way of training his German Shepherds?

www.leerburg.com …. Is this guy totally nuts by asserting his dominance with such aggressive training or is he doing what he does well? I mean, there’s a lot of stuff on that site I would never do to my dog (like hang it from a tree when it tries to attack me [but it might be necessary... i don't know]), but there’s also a lot of great points he makes. What do you think about his ways of training?

Ed Frawley is an AMAZING trainer with an incredible gift. You’re talking about his extreme methods of training for extreme circumstances, but if you listen to his philosophy on training a dog/becoming your dog’s pack leader, you’ll hear him say, sometimes it’s a matter of training with markers, and sometimes there needs to be a correction. The right kind of trainer can lean one way or another based on the circumstances. There should never be this way only because the same methods are not going to work on all dogs.

I asked Ed Frawley a question about my newly adopted JRT which was exhibiting EXTREME seperation anxiety behavior. Shaking to nearly convulsions in the crate, crying – no screeching in the crate as soon as I was out of her sight – ripping up her blankets, biting her crate.

Mr. Frawley never met me, never met my dog, but his advice was RIGHT ON THE MONEY! Not only did he email me back within 24 hours (which is quite unheard of as my experience goes), but he sent me wonderful reference links.

Although like you, I thought his advice was a little outside of the box, I did it. He told me to leave her in the crate 24/7 unless having her on a leash and interacting with her outside. So she went in the crate all the time. If I was home, she was crated, if I was at work, she was crated. Short of potty breaks, walks and playtime (all outside), she was in the crate.

This was 1.5 months ago. She now crates on command. She could care less if I’m in the room. No more shaking, no more destroying her bedding. Ed Frawley said she just needed to learn to get past the ghosts in her head, and by leaving her in the crate, she faced her fears, and I earned peace of mind. With my peace came her peace.

I think Ed is wonderful – he’s my dog whisperer.

Anyone ever purchased a Leerburg german shepherd?

I am interested in getting one in the future but wonder if their worth the money?

No, I have not. Ed does breed some decent dogs and he breeds for working purposes, however, I am not a big fan on how they look, I rather prefer the old style DDR dogs.
Hope I helped!

A dog like this does it more for me in terms of substance and ability as well as looks.

ADD: Psycho M….you train dogs for a living and you do not know the difference between a pound dog and one bred specifically for a purpose??? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
