My Puppy keeps chewing on his feet?? Help??

My German Shepherd puppy keeps chewing on his own feet and I have No idea why. As he is also a Parvo survivor and is only 14 weeks.
Do they itch or something? His father had some kind of problem and had to have a couple tows amputated could this be the beginning stages of something else. He has plenty of toys, bones, Kongs. We are also working with him on quitting chewing on rocks and tile grout. But I am really worried bout his feet. They said he would probably eat wood and poop to replenish stuff he lost during parvo but NOT his feet.

I think that it may just be an itch.
If its just a habit, then you should put something on his feet that he won’t like the taste of like some kind of spicy powder on the fur part of his feet. He’ll taste that and not want to chew. He’ll probably stop after a few days, then you can discontinue putting the powder on his feet.
