German Shepherd Akc Club
german shepherd akc club
White German Shepherd Club International Inc. ?
I’ve been considering joining as I have an AKC registered white german shepherd puppy.
Is anybody familiar or in this club, if so what is it like? I’m 17 so what kinds of things might I be able to do.
Baloo – I already have this puppy. And I do, my family has 3 shelter dogs right now and we love them very much. We had 2 other shelters but they both passed away in the same yr, and one I had been around since I was a little kid so I really miss him.
There is no International White Shepherd Club, and the AWSA-etc are a dead end because they impatiently went with the internationally-unaccepted UKC instead of patiently working with the AKC.
In Switzerland the fanciers of whites worked with the Swiss KC and they now have their whites (well, those of them with a long enough pedigree of ONLY registered white GSDs) re-registered as Bergers Blanc Suisse. If you look in Group 1 of the FCI’s list of official breeds: http://www.fci.be/nomenclatures.asp?lang=en&sel=0 you will see their Standard. Last I saw, their recognition with FCI was still provisional, but so far as I know only Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the USofA don’t accept the “new breed”.
• If you want to breed, or to compete in AKC training competition (agility, Collie-style “herding”, companion trials, obedience tests, rally-o), your pooch’s AKC registration is adequate.
• If you want to compete in the show-ring or in DogSport or to gain a Breed Survey Report, you’re out of luck for the latter 2. To show, you’ll need to kid yourself that the AWSA, the UKC, the WGSDCA actually count for anything – because the colour white is a disqualification for real GSDs, the internationally-accepted KCs (which includes the AKC) all dump any whites seen in GSD rings (in Germany & Australia they are actually de-registered, even if they started with AKC Registration) and any registration, titles or qualifications awarded by rebel groups such as the Con.KC and the UKC are totally ignored. But obviously your pooch isn’t of show or breeding quality anyway – if it were, you would have contacted his/her breeder about this.
• If he/she has a superbly calm & gentle temperament and you keep him/her very clean & well trained, a pedigree and KC registration aren’t necessary for becoming a PAT-dog (Pets As Therapy).
If you just want help & advice, then join some of the YahooGroups dedicated to white GSDs. There are owners of whites in my chat group, but they don’t breed or show their pets, they just love them and feed them and train them.

Can I get my dog registered?
I have a pure bred german shepherd. And when we bought her from a puppy store. She did not come with a registration. (akc, Ckc) because her mother was not registered but her father was. Is there any way that I can get her registered into a club?
She can get an PAL (formally known as ILP) which will allow her to participate in AKC competitions other than conformation.

This is different than limited registration.
Limited registration is a restriction put on puppies from 2 AKC registered dogs by most great breeders that means that any puppy from that dog can not be registered through the AKC. Usually breeders have a list of conditions that must be met before the limited is lifted (by the breeder) and changed to full.
ETA – BYB’s R Mini Puppy Mills – A picture of this dog was posted, she’s a purebred Bi-color. I *think* the OP may do something differently next time – even though I let her know how I felt about where she purchased the pup she still chose my answer as the best one and so I’m assuming didn’t take offense to what I said.
