Electric Dog Collar

Once you have understood that electric dog collars are gentle and humane dog training tools, your next step is to choose the right electric collar and learn the right way to use it.

Click here to buy the best Anti Barking Dog Collar

These are the main things you have to remember in choosing an electric collar:

  1. The range of the static should be adjustable. Dog shock collars have dials or buttons for changing the intensity of the static shock released. There should be a wide range to make sure that you get the right level for your dog. You should be able to turn it up or down depending on your pet’s reaction.
  2. Collar length should be adjustable. The dog collar should be adjustable to make sure your pet is comfortable with the collar around his neck. It should not be too tight or too loose.
  3. The dog collar width should not be too thick. Thick collars are uncomfortable for your pet. As you know, dogs don’t sweat. If the collar is too thick, it would be like your dog is wearing a scarf around his neck and this will cause him discomfort and he might attempt to get the collar off.
  4. Get an electric collar that is lightweight. A heavy collar can cause discomfort to the dog or may make them feel like their on a leash or tied down. Make sure that the shock collar you get is light.

With those requirements, you also have to consider the size, breed and age of your dog. A puppy will definitely need a milder training collar compared to a full grown dog. A Chihuahua will most definitely require something smaller and lighter compared to a German Shepherd or a St. Bernard.

So, after buying the right electric collar for your pet, you have to make sure you use it right. At first, you may want to test it on yourself to check the intensity of the static shock. Next, adjust the level of static based on your dog’s reaction. Never let your dog see you with the remote to avoid making him associate the shock to you holding it. Once you’ve reached a level of static that elicits a reasonable reaction, like confusion or a mild shake of the head, this will tell you that your dog has felt the buzz from the collar. Just remember to correct the unwanted action at the exact moment your dog performed it so he can associate the action to the static. Once your dog learns not to perform the unwanted action, you can stop using the shock collar and go back to a regular one.

An electric dog collar comes in handy in training your dog to be the lovable pet he’s supposed to be. With this collar, you can prevent him from destroying your or your neighbors’ garden and chasing after other animals in the neighborhood. Once he’s trained, even your neighbors will love your pet.

do prong collars help with aggressive dogs?or an agressive female german shepherd?

she’s good with people but not with other dogs besides ours. i can’t afford a dog trainer because i’m just a teen. need help

No, it will most likey make things worse – don’t take her around other dogs until you can afford to go to training and learn how to properly train the dog. If you are a teen, you should have adults responsible for the dog and they need to pay for you or them to train the dog so the problem doesn’t escalate.

German Shepherd Guard Training

german shepherd guard training
Protective/Guard Training?

I am getting a new dog (probably a German Shepherd) in about a month. Other than as a companion the dog will act almost like my GF’s bodyguard when I’m not around. I am use to large dogs and training them as a normal dog but I do not want to discourage aggressive behavior but more like being able to control it. Anyone have any tips or know of any books that would be good for this?

Aggression is not what makes a good protection dog. Stability, nerves, hardness & drives….followed by training. Without the proper genetics, you’ll have nothing but a fear driven, dangerous animal. GSD’s are not “Naturally” protective. If you are purchasing a GSD for the purpose of training it as a protection dog…be sure you’re getting a German Shepherd….not a “Show Dog”. The red & black….or tan & black “carpet” that runs around the show ring is NOT a German Shepherd. Not all “real” (working) GSD’s are capable of being a protection dog either….but your chances are much better than 0%. This is not something you’ll learn in a book. For the first year….just be concerned with making the dog completely social, and get the obedience training done.

Some Characteristics of German Shepherd Dogs

German Shepherd dogs are a very popular breed. They are loyal, protective and train easily.

Intelligence
It is well-known that German Shepherd dogs are an intelligent breed. Because of their intelligence, they are easy to train. You will find many German Shepherd dogs are used in the military, as guard dogs and in police work.

Temperment
German Shepherd dogs have a pack mentality. They want to be part of a pack and to look up to and follow a pack leader. Someone in their human family needs to be the pack leader. Without this, your German Shepherd will assume the role. This is confusing for the dog and causes many issues for the owner. This breed has a good temperament when trained properly. It is best to train German Shepherd dogs when they are still puppies.

Training
There are many methods to use for training your German Shepherd dog. You can read books about training or try one of the many training aides available, such as clickers. If needed, you can also find a local dog trainer in your area. They can help to train you on how to train your dog.

The Importance of Exercise
German Shepherd dogs are working dogs. They need to have a mental challenge. Be sure that your dog is getting enough exercise. A German Shepherd that isn’t mentally stimulated tends to get into things. Give your working dog a job to do. Take your dog for a brisk walk. Or, bike ride with him jogging alongside of you. Play a tug-of-war game with a dog toy. Not only will your dog get exercise, but this can help increase the bond you share with your German Shepherd.

Grooming
This breed has a dense, double coat of fur. Daily brushing should help to keep the hair loss manageable. Occasionally bathing German Shepherd dogs can help to reduce the hair build-up in your house. Do not wash these dogs too often as they need to maintain their natural oils.

Health
As with many large dogs, German Shepherd dogs can develop hip and elbow dysplasia. They also can develop eczema and even flea allergies. German Shepherd dogs also have deep chests. This can sometimes lead to digestive problems.

German Shepherd dogs make wonderful family pets. They are extremely loyal and protective over their humans.

Why does my cousin have a German Shepherd/Yorkshire terrier?

It’s very cute. But, how did the Yorkie reach up to the female GSD???????? IM CONFUSED………………
How did they do it??

About 25 yrs ago I had a male chihuahua about 5 months old. One day I let him out to do his business and there was a GSD in heat and she lured him out of our yard. I idn’t think he would breed that early. I couldn’t find my little chihuahua, looked for him a long time, and finally this GSD came trotting down the street with my little chihuahuas attached to her rear end. I don’t know how it happened but it did. We moved away not long after and did not get to see the pups.

Selecting the Right Breed of Dog for You

When considering the right breed of dog for you or your family, you will want to make the following comparisons among breeds and properly evaluate all conditions pertaining to your choice. Each breed carries with it certain traits and assets that can determine the right dog for you. Please consider the following: Ease of training, Activity and playfulness levels, Aggression (towards people/other dogs/other pets), Energy level, Tolerance to temperatures, Mood around other animals or people.

Some Breed Comparisons:

* Labrador Retriever-The Labrador Retriever is a large dog breed. They are consistently the most popular breed of dog in the United States and Canada. Labs, as they are commonly called, are generally well tempered, athletic and intelligent dogs. Labrador Retriever originated in Newfoundland, Canada.

* Yorkshire Terriers (Yorkies) – Yorkshire Terrier dogs make great companions. The Yorkshire Terrier is an xx-small dog breed but carry a bold personality. Often referred to as Yorkies, the breed originated in Yorkshire, England in the mid 1800s. Yorkies have a long, silky coat which requires an average amount of grooming.

* German Shepherd – German Shepherd Dogs were originally bred in Germany during the late 1800s. The German Shepherd Dog is a large dog breed. The breed is generally obedient and intelligent which causes them to be utilized by many police and military organizations around the world. German Shepherds are active and hard working dogs.

* Golden Retrievers – Golden Retriever dogs were originally bred in Scotland during the 1800s as a hunting dog. The Golden Retriever is a medium size dog breed. The breed is often used by police, rescue and seeing-eye organizations due to its intelligence and athleticism. Golden Retrievers are friendly, kind and confident.

* Beagles – Beagle dogs were originally bred in Great Britain around 1830 as a hunting dog. The Beagle is a small dog breed and a member of the hound family. The breed requires a small amount of pet grooming and a moderate amount of exercise.

* Boxers – The Boxer is a medium dog breed. The breed was originally developed in Germany during the late 1800s. The Boxer has a smooth, short-haired coat. Boxers require a moderate amount of exercise and grooming.

* Dachshunds (My personal Favorite) – The Dachshund was originally bred for badger hunting during the 15th century. The breed is commonly known for their short legs and relatively long body. Dachshunds are playful dogs but are also known for their stubborn personalities. They require a small amount of grooming and a moderate amount of exercise.

* Bulldogs – Bulldogs are known for their thick shoulders and head and the folds on their face. Bulldogs were originally bred in England in the 1500s and are thought to be a descendent of the Mastiff. They are a medium size dog breed and require an average amount of grooming.

* Poodles – The poodle is a medium size dog breed which originated in German during the 15th century. The poodle is known as one of the most intelligent dog breeds. Their coat is long and dense and it is commonly groomed in a fashionable manner for dog shows, which makes the breed highly recognizable.

* Shih Tzu – The Shih Tzu is an xx-small dog breed which originated in China. The Shih Tzu is one of the oldest dog breeds. They are characterized by their short muzzle and their long silky coat. Shih Tzus require an average amount of grooming and a minimal amount of exercise.

If you have specific needs, or require a dog for a specific activity, then there are best dog breeds for that activity and purpose. For example, if you travel a lot and you want to take your dog with you, then toy dog breeds are probably the best dog breeds for you. These dogs are very small and they can fit comfortably in small cages. They can also travel on cars without taking up too much space and without causing a fuss, provided their needs are taken care of.

If you, or someone from your family are allergic to dogs, then the best dog breeds for you will be the hypoallergenic breeds. These breeds shed very little hair and/or produce less saliva and dander, which are the main triggers to dog allergies. Nevertheless, bear in mind that no dog breed can really guarantee you that it will not cause allergies, as each individual dog and person have different metabolism. A dog that doesn’t cause allergic reactions in an allergic person can still cause allergic reactions in a different person.

Another typical use for dogs is for guarding places. If you want a dog to protect your property, most German dogs are the best dog breeds for this purpose. They are very territorial and defensive of their masters. They are also fierce and courageous, and will attack strangers if they perceive them as threats. That doesn’t mean they can’t be family dogs, just that they require a lot of training and socialization when they’re puppies in order to get them familiarized with their human masters and their family.

So, as you can see, there aren’t best dog breeds that can apply for every occasion and need. It all depends on your situation and what you want in a dog.

Now that you have done some studying about they types of dogs that are available and have put the proper though and effort into learning all you can about the your dog of choice, it is now time to adopt or make your purchase. Good luck in making the right choice.

What is the best puppy food to feed german shepherd puppies in the UK, and where is it available. Many Thanks?

I am due to pick up my German Shepherd Pup in approx 10 days and want to make sure that I have everything in place.

One of my concerns is choosing the best puppy food that is easily available in the UK (London). I have heard of a brand called eukanuba which sounds perfect, however I do not know if this is easily available in the UK, therefore I would really appreciate your help in this matter.

Also I have made a basic shopping list as follows, please could you let me know if I have missed anything.

Many Thanks

Training Treats / Kibble

Hi There,

You must be dead excited about getting your puppy! I love german shepherds they are wonderful dogs.

I would definitely recommend Orijen dog food as it is one of the best available foods for dogs and is as close to a dogs natural diet in a dry kibble form. No fillers, wheat or grain just meat & veg! You can get it here: http://www.mutleyandmog.co.uk/dog/dog-food/complete-dry-dog-food/orijen-dog-food/

I get my food from there and they are really quick at getting it out to you. I would also suggest if you are changing the food from something else that you make sure that you do it gradually over 2 or 3 weeks. So for first wee while do 75% old food 25% new food and so on till you get down to just the new food.

Its best to do it this way as sometimes changing your dogs diet quickly can cause them to have an upset stomach.

I think you have your list pretty much sorted, though you have missed off a bed and maybe a blanket plus I would say a wee soft toy as well as puppies need something soothing as they won’t have their mums.

Other foods that are good in case you decide against Orijen are Burns, Arden Grange, Royal Canin & James Wellbeloved.

Good luck with your new puppy!

What are some head strong games to play!?

Ok sooo I got a head strong dog(german shepherd/Rottweiler/pit bull/timber wolf mix! So what are some hard core games and toys for my dog! ANSWER PLEASE THIS DOG RIPES STUFFED ANIMALS SO X THAT OF LIST LOL!!!!!!! :)

Destructive dogs aren’t bad dogs – they just need jobs.

You could make a makeshift agility course for your dog and start him on that kind of training – it requires physical exertion, mental involvement, and obedience (which is key with such a big, strong breed mix – I’m interested to know where the timber wolf came from…). Or better yet, find a public agility training facility, or maybe you know someone who has a course…

You could try your hand at training him to track things, or search for hidden objects (like a police dog).

The key is mental involvement, though, whatever you decide to do – my guess is the dog has pretty boundless energy. With a dog like that, he won’t get tired unless his brain is working as hard as his legs are.

As much energy as he probably has, you could probably teach him some pretty cool tricks. But make sure you’ve got the basic “sit” “down” and “stay”, and make sure you’ve got good recall (comes when name is called). If you start them running around w/o good recall, they start having fun without you and then don’t come back when you call them.

Also, no matter how many people tell you to, don’t play tug-of-war with a dog like that – they’re probably stronger than you and will win almost every time, and it gets to be a dominance game, and you don’t want the dog thinking he’s alpha over you. That’s the other key with big dogs – human=pack leader (thank you, Ceasar Milan)

Advanced Dog Training Tips

State-of-the-art Dog Training

A lot of canine owners have taken their dogs and companions for elementary canine education. Then again, it is typically not adequate for some canines. If your dog continues to bark excessively, runs absent from you and chases immediately after transferring stuff, scratches your walls and doors, or bites, then you definately require sophisticated canine coaching.

When to Commence State-of-the-art Education

You’ll be able to start transferring on to far more sophisticated teaching approaches with your dog as quickly as you total a fundamental education program. The younger your canine is, the extra productive the sessions are going to be. I?m sure you have heard the old saying, ?You cannot educate an old canine new methods.? According to specialists, the ideal age to start education is once the dog is eight weeks old.

Styles of Advanced Dog Training

Simple dog obedience education typically involves using treats to encourage your pooch for learning simple instructions such as sit, keep, and roll around. Nonetheless, these techniques don?t address the behavior-oriented troubles that a number of dog owners face. Probably the most well known and powerful varieties of advanced canine teaching are:

Canine Crate Training
Clicker Canine Instruction

You can find numerous other approaches employed by annoyed dog owners, however the techniques listed over work the best. It?s important to note that sophisticated dog training techniques function well for all canine breeds together with Poodles, Mastiffs, Boxers, Labs, and German Shepherds.  You are able to start advanced canine teaching techniques in your own home with the correct guidance of a expert. An amazing and wallet friendly solution to find out about the finest procedures is by the use of at home training materials from the gurus.

Dog Crate Teaching

Crate training is an state-of-the-art technique that could possibly seem cruel the initial time you hear about it, but it is entirely caring and provides the canine confidence. Crate education entails buying a kennel or wire crate and maintaining your dog inside crate many of the day. This gives the canine a safe and sound sanctuary the place she or he can hang out and unwind. In addition, your dog is not going to be able to obtain into problems inside house. Examples of trouble involve banging about the trash, begging for foods, pooping around the floor, consuming your footwear, and jumping on site visitors. To commence the crate innovative dog-training procedure, you?ll must acquire and setup a kennel or wire-mesh crate. These may be purchased for as tiny as from your nearby pet shop. Make sure to purchase a crate that can be significant sufficient to accommodate your canine when it?s fully grown. By way of example, a Shih Tzu needs a smaller kennel or crate than an awesome Dane. Place a at ease pad or quilt in the crate. Your pet will get utilized to this quilt or pad, so only wash it when it?s dirty. Also, you must add canine chew toys, and aged shoe, plus a clock if you are coaching a puppy. The sound in the clock ticking will aid the puppy experience more cozy since it will remind the dog of it?s mother?s heart beat.  Take the crate and put it within a place that?s about 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Laundry rooms make excellent places for crate instruction, but you could also place the crate or kennel inside a popular spot these kinds of as the dwelling room.  Retain the dog while in the crate whatsoever occasions, except for exterior playtime, meal times, and instances so the dog can relieve itself. Listed here are some necessary recommendations to help keep in mind when utilizing the crate superior dog-training method:

1. Never ever place your pet dog while in the crate being a punishment. In case you do that, your canine will not really feel secure inside kennel as well as the crate instruction won?t function.
2. Test in your canine on a regular basis if the crate is kept in small area without a number of men and women these kinds of as a laundry space.
3. Make sure you setup a hamster or rabbit water feeder inside the crate if your canine will likely be confined there for greater than 2 hours at a time.

Clicker Canine Teaching

Clicker teaching is really a tremendously helpful advanced dog coaching method that works wonders, even with difficulty making canines that have failed miserably at other teaching methods. It?s so straightforward and productive that the US Army makes use of clicker education and it is been utilized on a number of unique types from dogs to bears and elephants. Research show that an individual can coach their dog in 1/3 less time by using the clicker technique as opposed to other advanced dog education techniques. This technique works on each breed together with Chihuahua and bull-dog breeds. The program works on fast feedback. When a dog coach rewards an animal with food, there?s a lag concerning the great action from the animal as well as the time that it receives the treat or encouraging words these as, ?good task.? With a clicker, a device that has a button that tends to make a clicking noise is utilized to instantly let the canine know the she or he did some thing optimistic and correct. That is a form of optimistic reinforcement and it has rapid outcomes. Right after the clicker is pressed, the dog is then provided a deal with. This treat doesn?t have to be a thing fattening, it could possibly even be many of the dog?s typical foods offered in smaller helpings. To embark on the clicker-training plan, you?ll require a plastic clicking device; which can be obtained at any pet shop. It?s most beneficial to possess expert guidance to create positive that you are working with the system the right way.  Listed below are some essential guidelines to maintain in brain when working with the crate superior dog-training technique:

1. Hold the foods concealed until soon after you make the click. This can ensure that your dog isn?t accomplishing the reward for the food instead of the click.
2. In the event you do not prefer to use a clicker, you are able to use hand movements or even a flashlight alternatively. This can be particularly practical for deaf canines. Numerous white canine breeds are vulnerable to deafness which includes Dalmatians.
3. If the clicker frightens your canine, attempt using a pen that has a retractable point. Merely push down around the plunger along with the canine will hear the click.

The best way to Implement Advanced Canine Teaching

Dog training will need to normally be pleasant for equally the dog as well as the proprietor. When starting on the new education program, you?ll desire to search out for indications that your pet buddy is beneath emotional stress or not enjoying the coaching. Some signs and symptoms to glimpse for include things like excessive hair loss, added behavioral difficulties. You can find even canines that consume their own poop when they?re underneath duress, so retain an eye out for this too.  After learning about some techniques, you could either find a certified dog coach in your area, otherwise you can locate a respected and well known course on line. When you employ a neighborhood qualified, the charges can get out of hand. When you look at on the web courses, you?ll see that some of them are composed and offered by a lot of the best dog coaches while in the planet. These instructors possess the state-of-the-art dog education abilities which you should get your canine towards the upcoming level in behavior.  Implement the instruction gradually, being a fun activity. This can guarantee that you along with your pooch are going to be most effective buddies to get a long time to come.

My German Shepherd Puppy Bit My 2yr Old son. What To do?

My four month old puppy was out in the kitchen today with my 2yr old son.My son is always going near the dog when its eating something and the dog has warned him off before.Today my son went to pick up an empty bowl from the dog,and she bit him.It caused a graze and drew blood. The dog puts up with alot of pulling about etc from my son,and doesn’t mind him taking a chew out of her mouth or anything like that. It did suprise me that she did bite him today.I am starting a training club on Monday, will this help? I don’t want to get rid of the dog,i only turned around for a second when that happened.I am teaching my son to feed the puppy, hoping this will help, and am trying to make sure she knows her place within the family. It does worry me that this has happened at such a young age, shes a really nice, well behaved dog overall.

Hey, pass the popcorn – this is getting good.

Take the advice of the first answerer. I bet you’re red in the face and can’t believe the answer’s your getting, but buck up and learn to take the criticism and learn more about your breed and how to raise a puppy.

What do I need to do to get my dog ready for a show?

Well I have a 3 month old German Shepherd. I know you have to be 6 months old for show but he needs the training. I don’t really want to take him to a club because the closest one is about 30 minutes away and very expensive. Is there anyway I can train him for the show myself. I have a lot of time, so what does he need to be trained for. Also he’s very smart, he learned basic commands (sit, stay, fetch, come, heel) at least at 8 weeks. So what does he need to be prepared for? By the way its conformation events
Im not doing obediance

It sounds as though you are planning on showing in obedience & not conformation. This is a good place to start.
When I started showing, I also started in obedience & I purchased the book “Training Your Dog to Win Obedience Titles.”
There are other books out there, but this one worked for me.
You can also check out books on dog training at the library.
As long as your dog knows all of the commands and you know the rules and etiquette, then you should be ok.
You can get the “Rules Applying to Obedience Shows” on the AKC website.
One problem with training your dog without the class setting though is that he will not be used to performing in a dog show setting – such as the situation that would be simulated at a training class.
You should try to attend a kennel club meeting in your area or meet some people in your area who show & they will be more than happy to help you in finding matches in your area. These are practice sessions to get your dog ready to show.
Good luck!

Can someone help me translate some words to German?

I just purchased a Fully trained German Shepherd Dog from Germany. The problem is the packers packed up the manual and dvds and he only understands German. I looked at 2 different sites and some of the words did not come up the same.
I already know a few commands but here are some more

Get it
Heel
Gaurd
Jump
Let go
stay
No
Um, Sorry I have no idea how to pronounce those words.

I’m sorry, but Paul’s Neurologist’s answers are nonsense!

Some very common commands for dogs are:
Apport! (up’port) – Get it!
Hier! (heer)
Sitz! (sitts)
Platz! (plutts) or: Down!
Bleib! (blibe) – Stay!
Aus! (ous) – Let go!
Bei Fuß! (by foos) – Heel!
Nein! (nine) – No!
Auf! (ouf) – Let’s go!

Ten Habits of Internet Millionaires

All the successful internet millionaires out there (and there are a lot) have many things in common with each other. They share many similar character traits – one of them being a determination not to fail. But they also share many common practices which help to make them the successful online businessmen that they are.

Here are 10 things all successful internet millionaires know which have helped them achieve the phenomenal success they have enjoyed to date.

1. Social networking

This is linked to point number two. Linking to your site and blogging about it helps with SEO. But also, it helps to tell people about your site, your product and your services. Giving away free information on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube will help to build your reputation and instill confidence in your potential customers. Be sure to keep your networking fresh, up-to-date and relevant to your site and product.

If you don’t want the hassle of writing your own tweets and blogs you can hire someone else to do it for you. There are plenty of people out there who are very adept at writing and finding articles to publish on your blogs and will do it for a relatively small fee. You could try elance.com, rentacoder.com and craigslist.com. You can write an advert and place it on these sites for free.

2. Search Engine Optimisation

A lot has been written about keywords, tags and site content with regards to Google and how it works. The bottom line is that Google is so complex in the way that it searches the internet that it’s difficult to fool it into liking your site. But here are a few key points to be aware of if you want your site to appear higher in a search.

a Original content is good. Don’t copy and paste too much from other people’s sites. Google recognises when there is repeat content and will not give your site any value if it looks like it’s simply a replica of someone else’s site or a duplicate of one of your own. Be original. Even if you use other people’s material, re-write it to read differently so that Google can’t identify it as duplicate content. Of course, plagiarism is out of the question so be sure that you are not ’stealing’ someone else’s work and that anything you use has copyright permission attached.

b Use long-tail keywords in the tags of your website and in the content. Long tail keywords are more like phrases or sentences. So, for instance, one could search for ‘dogs’ on Google and that would result in millions of sites coming up in the search. However, if someone were to search for ‘how to train a German Shepherd’ that’s going to yield much fewer sites in the search which will increase the chances of your site getting further to the top. The trick is to find the right balance between specific keywords and quantity of users searching for that particular keyword. Too many and you’ll have too much competition, too few and you simply won’t get enough hits. Google’s keyword tool can be found by clicking on the link in my signature box below.

c YouTube videos. YouTube is great at generating traffic. If you can upload videos to YouTube to promote your product it should help greatly in increasing your search engine optimisation (SEO).

d Backlinks – that is links from other sites to your site, help with SEO too. Google likes sites which have backlinks to them. The easiest method for achieving this is to create Blogs, which are free, and to link to your site from those blogs. Twitter is also a good way of creating backlinks by tweeting your URL every so often – be sure it’s not too often or Twitter will shut you down as a spammer. The rule is, any site which has a link back to your site will increase your SEO, so the more people you can get to link to it, the better.

e Activity. Be sure to keep your blogs and other websites updated frequently. Google knows when there is activity and will promote sites that are active. Do a search on google and you’ll see that the ones reaching the top ten are sites which are constantly being updated with ads, blogs, forums, videos etc.

3. Target Advertising
Know your market and aim your pitch to only those people who may be interested in your product. Google ads, facebook ads and content ads – those placed directly onto people’s websites are good sources of advertising. Google ads use keywords used in the search engine to drive traffic to your site. You would do well to research what keywords to use in the copy of your site by using the keyword search tool provided free by Google.

Facebook uses its users profiles to target your ads. You can choose people’s interests, marital status, age, country etc to decide where you want your ads to appear. You can choose pay per click or pay per view for both of these methods.

The content ads are usually a deal struck between the advertiser and the owner of the website. This can be a percentage of sales or a flat-rate fee. The advantage is that you are advertising on a site where you know people already have a specific interest in the kind of product you are selling.

4. Create a great sales page
Your sales page is the all-important part of your online selling strategy. If this doesn’t work, visitors will simply leave and never come back. This is your moment on someone’s doorstep, or standing at the market stall. Everything you say here should be concise and to the point. Three key points to a successful sales page are:

a. Identify a need. Be sure that you know what need your product meets and make it clear to the visitor that their need is your concern. Identify that need. Highlight the need. Emphasise the need. Sometimes, people don’t even know they have a need for your product until you show them. Creating the awareness for need of your product is the first step in selling it.

b. Explain the benefits of your product. How it can make a difference to someone. How rapid and how massive the results can be. The key here is to get across the message that the visitor couldn’t possibly do without your product and that their life will be changed for the better if they buy it. Your product should be presented as being essential to meeting the need you have already identified.

c. Clearly state what your product is, how much it costs, where to download it or when it will be sent and always give a money-back guarantee. Nothing puts someone off buying more than lack of clarity or information. You need to keep them confident in your service as well as your product. The money back guarantee is another way of instilling confidence and hardly anyone will take you up on it – especially if your product is good.

d. Give away a free bonus. This will give the visitor a reason to proceed further and investigate. It’s a sprat to catch a mackerel. You sacrifice your free product with the intention that once you have them hooked you’ll be able to reel them in. Make sure your freebie is of good quality and is relevant to the product you are selling. If they find that your free bonus is of poor quality, they are hardly likely to pay money for anything else you’re offering.

There’s no substitute for great copy. Be sure that your sales copy is dynamic and to the point. If you have the cash, then pay someone else to write the copy for you. Or you could trawl the internet researching sales pages by some of the top entrepreneurs and simply copy their copy. All you have to do is adapt it to your product. The all important thing is that you enthuse the visitor and capture their imagination so that they will want to know more.

5. Build your mailing list.
They key to an ongoing, successful business is a good mailing list. Good doesn’t necessarily mean ‘big’. It’s more important that the people you have on your mailing list are relevant to the product you are selling. For instance, you don’t want to be trying to sell a book on weaning babies to a pensioner – hardly like to make any sales there. So how to do go about building a list of people you KNOW are interested in your particular product?

Create and Opt In Page, Landing Page or Squeeze Page (they’re just different terms for the same thing). This is also known as the sales page. This is where you promote your product and ask the visitor to give you their contact details – their first name and email address is enough. Two ways you could do this:

a. Offer to give something away for free. Usually a free report – this can even be an article you’ve found on EzineArticles.com. Be sure that you include the author and source of the report, it’s not legal or moral to take someone else’s work and pass it off as your own. When your visitor knows that they will get something of value for free in exchange for their contact details they are more likely to comply.

Once they have opted-in you can then send them to a thank-you page where you ask them if they are interested in purchasing your product. This is where your big promotion is done. You’ve already given them something for free, now you want to know if they want to buy something. Even if they don’t this time, you have them on your mailing list so you can remind them of your product at a later date.

b. Sell your product, offer a free gift and ask for their contact details all at once. This is the preferred method for most online entrepreneurs. A sales pitch can read something like ‘A great product worth $197 being offered today for only $29.97. Plus a free bonus worth $100 if you buy today. Just enter your details here to find out more’.

It’s pretty much the same scenario in a slightly more compact package. Both are effective.

If you are concerned about how you can get all this functioning there are two great services you can use. One is called Getresponse.com and the other is Aweber.com. Both provide automatic emailing to your mailing list as well as providing you with all the necessary tools for linking your site to their service, and all very easy to use. You will use this service to create follow up campaigns to sell further products and to provide your mailing list with useful information to maintain your relationship with them.

6. Leveraging YouTube
Videos are easier for people to take in information they also increase SEO (search engine optimisation) with Google. Google owns YouTube so the link between the search engine and the YouTube website couldn’t be more efficient. It is a known fact that a link from YouTube to your website increases search engine optimisation which means that your site appears higher up in the Google search.

The kind of videos you upload to YouTube is entirely up to you. You could create a promo video for your product with PowerPoint presentation and a simple voice over. Or you could just set it to music (be sure the music is royalty-free or you could get sued).

Another kind of video is one where you talk to the camera. These can be quite effective if you have a natural, camera-friendly presentation style. It can help to create trust in your audience since they have a face to put to the name.

Any other YouTube videos connected to your site will help to create traffic. The YouTube audience is massive and growing daily.

Another way of leveraging YouTube is to find a video which has already gained popularity and ask the owner of that YouTube account if they would put a link to your site from their YouTube page for a small fee. You can generate a lot of traffic this way and it’s a lot cheaper than pay-per-click advertising.

7. Affiliate Marketing
There’s probably not one internet entrepreneur out there who hasn’t been or isn’t currently engaged in some kind of affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a way of making money by promoting other people’s products. Quite often these are e-books, DVDs or mp3s. You don’t need to own these products or even create a product of your own. With affiliate marketing it’s a simple as finding an affiliate product then promoting it – literally, just telling people about it.

A great place to start your affiliate marketing is with an online service called Clickbank. This is an online marketplace where thousands of e-books are sold daily. People who have created products upload them to Clickbank and allow other users to sell them for a percentage of the profits – sometimes up to 75% – yes, you get to keep 75% of the sales of each product sold.

There are many ways to promote other people’s products online – YouTube videos, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace etc. Any time someone clicks on your ‘Hop’link – supplied by Clickbank, they are taken to the sales page of the product but any sales generated will be allocated to your affiliate program and the payments are automatically made to your clickbank account.

It’s as simple as that. No expertise, no technical jargon – just find something you like and tell people about it.

8. Create Joint Ventures
Promote other people’s sites and products in exchange for them doing the same for you. This is something to consider once you have something which you know can be of worth to another marketer. For instance, you may have created a big list of contacts and you may offer to promote his product to your list in exchange for him doing the same for you.

Another example of joint ventures is when someone promotes their product on their website in exchange for you doing the same. Sometimes this may be a no-money exchange or other times a percentage of sales can be agreed between the two parties.

Often, marketers who have enjoyed a certain measure of success may get invited to speak at another marketers seminar. This is usually a free opportunity with the gain the one hosting the seminar gets a free speaker and the one speaking gets a free audience.

9. Follow-up marketing (upselling)
Once you have had someone show an interest in your product or service you should keep in constant contact with them. Send them free reports, links to great websites, news items related to your subject of interest. Now and then, you should send them news of a new product. Many sales are made after the initial contact has been made. On average a customer only becomes a customer after they have received 7-10 emails from you, so don’t take a ‘no-sale’ at the start to mean that they are not interested. They just need help in making up their minds.

If your first product is cheap – let’s say an e-book, on sale for $10. Your second product could be more expensive – perhaps the same book as an audiobook going for $30. You may then create a course of DVD seminars on sale for $200. If your customers liked your first product they will be more than inclined to purchase any further products from you. So keep thinking, keep creating and keep promoting.

10. Publishing Articles
Articles create backlinks to your site and help promote interest. Online article services like EzineArticles.com publish hundreds of thousands of articles on all kinds of subjects. These articles are available to download for free. Where they can help your business is that you can put the URL for your website into the article and it automatically generates code which search engines like and can increase traffic to your sales page.

Be sure to keep the links to a minimum or your reader may get fed up with the hard sell. After all, they want to read an article not an advert. The more information you are willing to part with for free, the more your potential customers will trust you and want to buy from you.

The more articles you write and publish, the more people will read them and the more traffic you will generate to your sales page or website, and the higher up the search in Google or Yahoo your website will sit. Articles are a very good way of promoting your online business.

AND THE ELEVENTH HABIT?
Never, never, never give up. Success comes through a lot of hard work and determination. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t achieve overnight success. Be persistent and never doubt that can do it. No entrepreneur ever achieved anything

Four Guaranteed Steps To Crack German Shepherd Aggression Problems

German shepherds are handsome dog breeds, but German shepherd aggression may come up with absence of correct German shepherd training. In fact, this can be a serious problem in many canines. As early as six weeks of age, they can become aggressive since this is a critical point in time in which they meet other dogs and strangers.

German shepherd aggression problems can be attributed to a lot of things and they should not be ignored nor tolerated. Nevertheless, despite their intimidating features, German shepherds are eager to learn and can be easily trained when they are in the right hands. The sooner the training is started, the greater the chance for them to become well mannered and great family dogs.

What triggers German shepherd aggression?

Genetics and heredity are known to be contributors of German shepherd aggression as well as with other breeds of canines. German shepherd dogs have a high tendency toward hostility. However, this does not apply at all times.

Some German shepherd dogs become destructive and intense due to past traumatic experiences. They may be abused by their previous trainers while they are still young. Any undesirable treatment and bad environment may aggravate their harshness to other dogs and people.

Lack of socialization is also a contributing factor for German shepherd aggression. Being sociable by nature, these canines interact with their mothers and siblings, their littermates, during their first two months. When they are separated from their families, they tend to develop aggressive behaviors and eventually become distrustful to new animals and human beings.

German shepherd dogs believe in the pack culture. They look for someone to become their Alpha dog. Once their owners miss to establish leadership during puppyhood years, these animals may do everything as they please because they are not directed appropriately.

Certain diseases or ailments may also contribute to German shepherd aggression. When they experience sickness, it may cause them discomfort, thereby turning them into violent canines. Therefore, routine check-up with a veterinarian is recommended.

Since German shepherd aggression can be dangerous and even life-threatening, here are five guaranteed steps to stop this problem now before it’s too late:

Step one: German shepherd aggression can be avoided by German shepherd training your canine at a young age, whether through verbal commands, hand signals, or other methods. Younger German shepherd puppies are easier to train than the adult ones because they have the greater capacity to learn quickly.

Moreover, older German shepherd dogs tend to become heavier and their actions may be hard to control. Remember to treat the animal with gentleness and affection during the entire German shepherd training procedure to build their trust in you. Another thing, do not eliminate the Shepherd puppy from its litter mates until they reach the 8th week.

Step two: Become your German shepherd’s leader while he is still young. One of the best ways to prevent German shepherd aggression issues is for you to set the rules and boundaries and be consistent at all times. Start with one-word commands like sit, stay and heel, and proceed to the more difficult level as he improves.

If your German shepherd is about to German shepherd bite or is German shepherd jumping on other people, say “No” to him firmly and let him sit and stay. If he complies, praise him madly and pat him on his head. Offer him treats so that he will link rewards with obeying your commands.

Step three: Allow the German shepherd puppy to interact with other canines and people. Make him get used to a new environment. German shepherd aggressive behaviors such as German shepherd biting, German shepherd nipping, German shepherd gnawing and German shepherd barking may be the animal’s means of self-defense.

Walk the German shepherd frequently in public places and let him play with other dogs. Retain a regular feeding schedule. German shepherd obedience classes are also good venues for him to exercise his social skills.

Step four: Because German shepherd aggression may result from abusive treatment, any form of punishment such as yelling, hitting, slapping, paddling and others are discouraged. That is why trainers should have extra patience in dealing with this type of breed.

When your German shepherd displays faulty acts, saying “No” and “shhh” when he barks loudly without being violent are preferable ways to make him behave as you wish.

Eliminating German shepherd aggressive behaviors as early as possible can save both animal and human lives. Well behaved German shepherds make the owners at ease and feel safe everywhere they go. If German shepherd aggression concerns persist, consult a professional dog trainer immediately.

How can I make my one year old German Shepherd stop barking?

My daughter and I have a one year old German Shepherd. She barks all the time. At everything, everywhere. She doesn’t bite or anything, so she’s not mean. But Does anyone know how to make a dog stop barking? Please help

Ok this is gonna sound so lame and it may take a lil time but it does work….

like whenever he starts barking like in a room and u r there then just get up and walk away, and keep repeating….

if he is barking at other people then try having a stranger or that person come in and if the dog barks then walk out or use a lil discipline (spray bottle) and try it over and over and when he does get it right, give him a little treat

Grab Five German Shepherd Puppy Training Tips To Success ASAP!

The earlier the German shepherd puppy training is began, the better. German shepherd dogs are forceful. Without appropriate German shepherd training, they might go tearing up your house, digging up the yard, barking constantly, poop all over and become your worst nightmare.

Make sure that you can provide appropriate German shepherd puppy training before thinking of buying a new one. This helps mold the animal’s behavior. Smart and sociable, German shepherds were bred by Germans to guard and herd sheep and they are considered a good choice of pet because of their guarding abilities.

Now, here are five German shepherd puppy training tips that are guaranteed successful:

German shepherd puppy training tip one:

Before considering on owning a German shepherd dog, you must first understand the nature of the breed. Therefore, it would help to do a research ahead of time. This type of canine is fearless and vigilant. However, German shepherd aggression, although this is a common problem, can be easily controlled with the right German shepherd puppy training methods.

Once the Shepherd puppy reaches your home, he should be considered as a member of the family. He needs to be fed regularly and have plenty of play activities just like a human child. Owners should be financially and emotionally committed and serious in raising this kind of dog. As he grows up, his needs also change and you should be able to anticipate these changes.

German shepherd puppy training tip two:

German shepherd puppy training should begin as early as possible. About seven to eight weeks, your German shepherd puppy’s brain is already receptive to new lessons. He has the capacity to follow commands, although it may take a while to fully understand the true meaning of each command.

Training young German shepherds are preferable because their behaviors are more controllable than those who already hit puberty. Remember the saying “It is hard to teach old dogs new tricks.” This is a large and powerful breed and untrained German shepherd adults may wreak havoc everywhere you go.

German shepherd puppy training three:

Start with the basic commands. The best way to make sure that the instructions are absorbed is to use one-syllable word such as sit, heel, down and stay. Commands must be clear to achieve a better chance of success and they need not be taught all at the same time.

As soon as your German shepherd puppy masters these skills, move on to the next. Teach him more complex tricks like shake hands and high five. Do not rush on things to avoid confusing the canine. Some German shepherds may have short attention span but this is normal and they will eventually outgrow them.

Do not forget to lavish him with praises and treats as soon as he displays the desired behavior so he will associate rewards with obeying your rules.

German shepherd puppy training tip four:

German shepherd puppies should be provided enough socialization and exercise. Although they may be friendly to their human family, they may not treat other dogs and strangers this way outside their family surroundings. Because of this, they should be exposed to new dogs, people and environment from time to time.

Adequate exercise is also essential to be able to stimulate their mind and body. While your German shepherd puppy is still young, take him to an afternoon walk frequently for at least 30 minutes in a local dog park and allow him to play with other dogs and humans.

German shepherd puppy training tip five:

One of the most important German shepherd puppy training methods is the German shepherd crate training. This teaches the animal how to housebreak or to become potty. This is also very helpful especially when you are the type who often goes out for long stretches of time.

The crate should be a comfortable area where he can eat, stay and sleep well. Once you start crate training your German shepherd puppy, he may be whining a lot while he is in his crate but do not mind this at all. Sooner or later, he will get the hang of it.

The right German shepherd puppy training that is initiated early on will assure you of great years with your German shepherd dog. By being consistent and patient all throughout the training process, you will see how he can benefit your family and the society.
